The Baby Hiatus has ended! The Little Snack has returned in a podcast episode so rambling and meandering, you'll kind of wish the hiatus had lasted a year or two longer. In addition to talking about a little thing called the Miracle of Life, these Lieutenant Eckhardts get serious and tear the final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, 'The Dark Knight Rises' a new one. It's been a long time coming for these BatFreaks, and they're enthusiastic if not terribly positive. Settle in for a long and spoiler-rich podcast and prepare to shake your head slowly in disappointment. Discussed! The recent birth of a new, tinier Monolith, circumcision, sensitivity and all manner of inappropriateness, the superiority of IMAX, terrible Bane impressions, the difficulty of acting from behind a mouth-covering mask, speechifying, what is and what is not "Batman", the shabby treatment of important (and often elderly) characters, the things orphans know about other orphans just by looking into their eyes, the uncanny strength of Bruce Wayne's back, Batman's poor prioritization skills when saving friends' lives, jerky theater ushers and reminders of Aurora, character consistency (or lack thereof) in the Scarecrow, the "Bat" as a crutch, Gotham as Sarajevo, a highly illuminating comparison between scenes in 'Rising' and 'Dark Knight', where 'Batman' goes from here, and general smack-talk about a movie the two Adam Wests liked more than they let on.
