Show #36- The Reinvention of Harry Knowles
Though the words "I got nothing" are spoken in the first 10 seconds of the episode, turns out the dopes had more to say than they thought in this 50-minute free-form podcast. We talk about Harold Knowles [sic] and Aintitawesomenews.com [also sic], what happened after a private screening of McTiernan's 'Rollerball' remake for the aforementioned Harold [sic], how, if at all, the race for the Republican nomination changed after last night's contests in 'Bama and 'Sippi, ignorance in the South versus good old-fashioned political dislike, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Fluke and the free market, Bobby McFerrin versus Michael Winslow, 'The Sisters Brothers', book awards, thoughts on the landmark Marvel comic crossover series "Civil War", a question for a listener, and then a punchy interlude about the heart-monitor machine in hospitals that gives that continuous beep sound when a person dies. Free-form, folks. And then we talk about what we're going to talk about in the next podcast ('Game Change'), and how that show's going to be super-awesome. This one's a real grab-bag. Enjoy it, Snackers!
